In 1984, Nova Drilling Technologies, Inc. expanded its business to include fabrication, modification and refurbishment of oilfield drilling and workover equipment, design of auxiliary systems and components, and rig-up and testing of complete rigs. We offer in-house engineering and computer-aided drafting systems to customers in need of such services, and as an on-site extension of the customers' engineering staff.

Our Plant

Our plant in Houston, Texas has a 12,000 square foot manufacturing facility, and sits on a 3 1/2 acre hard-surfaced rig-up yard. It includes all the tools and equipment needed to assemble and test any size drilling or workover rig. We have designed and fabricated complete mud systems, pump and transport skids, environmental units, and other rig components for mechanical, SCR, trailer-mounted and helicopter transportable rigs.

Our Mechanics

Each with more than ten years of field service experience, are fully knowledgeable in drilling equipment opera-tions and have traveled around the world to supervise repair and testing on location. In addition to design, fabrication, and refurbishment, we offer sand/water blasting, painting and custom welding.

Our testing procedures include rig-up of mast, substructure, draw-works, electrical systems, testing pump flows and mud circulation, pressure testing of lines and connecting pipes, plus any additional tests specified by the customer.

These rigs were medium to large size drilling rigs, all delivered on time and to the contractor's specifications. At Nova Drilling Technologies, Inc. we understand that all of a rig's components must work as one to avoid expensive down-time or costly repairs. We thoroughly test equipment in the rig-up yard to eliminate problems in the field. The complete check includes rig-up of mast, substructure, draw works, electrical system, testing pump flows and mud circulation, pressure testing lines and connecting piping. Any modification can be completed in the yard. We will conduct any customer specified tests or modifications.
